The Art of Vilnius
There are cities brimming with art, and there are classical books about those cities. The Art of Vilnius by Nikolai Vorobyov is one of those books - probably the finest text in Lithuanian to have been written about our capital city.
The cornerstone of this publication is the work the Art of Vilnius, written by Nikolai Vorobyov (1903-1954), reasonably titled as the first interwar Lithuanian art historian with a European education. Here we present Vorobyov's authentic text translated into English along with essays by Giedrė Jankevičiūtė and Tomas Venclova, as well as photographs by Jan Bulhak and contemporary photographers.
